System Engineer Entry

Position Title: System Engineer (Entry Level)
Clearance Level: Secret
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD

Education Requirement:

  • BS in Engineering, Testing, or a related field.
  • Engineering discipline preferred.
  • BS can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience performing tactical network systems engineering functions.

Experience Requirement:

  • No prior experience is required; however, experience in tactical network systems engineering is preferred.

Job Description:
The System Engineer (Entry Level) will support systems engineering activities for tactical network systems and architectures. This position will provide engineering expertise in various program lifecycle phases, including development, testing, evaluation, training, and configuration management. The engineer will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the transport and networking architecture of tactical networks align with current and future capabilities.

Duties include:

  • Perform systems engineering processes, procedures, and best practices in support of acquisition programs.
  • Provide engineering expertise for activities such as development, testing, evaluating, training, and configuration management.
  • Support engineering efforts for the transport and networking architecture focused on modernizing tactical network capabilities.
  • Assist in design reviews and conduct in-depth technical evaluations and assessments of network performance and architectures.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and integration strategies for network systems.
  • Support Capability Set (CS) and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) activities.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance and modernize communication systems within tactical networks.
  • Collaborate effectively with organizations, including Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications - Tactical (PEO C3T), other Project Managers (PMs) and Product Managers (PdMs), Army Capabilities Manager (ACM), and other Army stakeholders.
  • Coordinate interoperability considerations across multiple teams and programs.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of tactical network systems and architectures.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering best practices, including risk assessment and integration strategies.
  • Familiarity with transport and networking architectures within the Army Tactical Network environment.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate technical issues with a wide range of stakeholders, including military and civilian agencies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate and improve network performance.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position, standard 40-hour workweek.
