Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced System Engineer V to join our team, focusing on the development and integration of tactical network systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in systems engineering processes and will be responsible for providing technical expertise throughout the lifecycle of various acquisition programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Systems Engineering Support: Perform systems engineering processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure successful development, testing, evaluation, training, and configuration management in support of acquisition programs.
• Network Architecture: Provide engineering support on transport and networking architecture, focusing on current and future tactical network capabilities.
• Technical Evaluations: Support design reviews and conduct in-depth technical evaluations and assessments of network performance and architectures, including risk assessments and integration strategies.
• Capability Support: Contribute to Capability Set (CS) and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) activities, providing technical support to evaluate and integrate new technologies aimed at modernizing communications.
• Collaboration: Effectively collaborate with various organizations, including PEO C3T, other PMs, PdMs, ACM, and Army-wide stakeholders, to coordinate interoperability considerations.
• Documentation Review: Review and understand acquisition documentation (e.g., mission needs statements, operational needs statements, Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs), Capability Development Documents (CDDs), Capability Production Documents (CPDs), and technical specifications) for Army tactical communications systems. Translate those requirements to support the development of standards-based and cost-efficient technical solutions.
• Proposal Review: Review Government performance work statements and contractor proposals for technical accuracy to ensure requirements are met.

Subject Matter Expertise Required:

• Proven experience in network engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing LANs or VLANs.
• Proficiency with routing protocols, multicast, routing configurations, and IPv4/IPv6 addressing.
• Experience in network protocol analysis using tools such as Sniffer or Wireshark.
• Familiarity with VMware and commercial communications equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of transport and network architectures.
• Understanding of end-to-end network design and performance, as well as voice/data transmission and backbone networks.
• Knowledge of RF engineering and tactical communications systems.
