Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Test Engineer Entry to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to begin their career in tactical network engineering. The successful candidate will assist in preparing and reviewing test plans and conducting performance tests to evaluate the effectiveness and reliability of tactical network systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning: Assist in preparing and reviewing test plans, including the types of tests to be conducted, required facilities, proposed schedules, and estimated project costs.
  • Performance Testing: Conduct performance tests and evaluations of tactical network items and systems to ensure they meet operational requirements.
  • Resource Management: Help ensure sufficient equipment and personnel resources are available to effectively perform testing tasks.
  • Data Evaluation: Assist in analyzing and evaluating technical data, including instrumentation readings, calculations, and deficiency reports, to ensure valid results and identify potential weaknesses or failures.
  • Design Analysis: Support the analysis of design and specification proposals from manufacturers to ensure compliance with specified general requirements; make recommendations regarding design feasibility, time, cost estimates, and other technical phases.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate testing requirements with other engineers, subject matter experts, and PdMs, as well as other organizations to facilitate successful testing execution.

Required Expertise:

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Basic understanding of DoD, DA, acquisition, and ATEC Test & Evaluation (T&E) policies and regulations.
  • Instrumentation Knowledge: Familiarity with instrumentation systems, data collection, reduction techniques, and relevant commercial/military standards is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to apply basic data analysis techniques.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the architecture, protocols, security, network management, and physics underlying tactical network systems is beneficial.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or 4 years of additional related experience performing tactical network engineering functions in lieu of a degree.
  • No prior tactical network testing experience is required, but an eagerness to learn and grow in the field is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze technical data effectively.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
