Job Title: IT Specialist, Journeyman

Security Clearance: Secret

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.

Experience Requirement:

  • Additional 4 years of IT experience at APG NEC or PEO/PM organizations may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Specialist at the journeyman level to provide subject matter expertise in IT support for our organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing business cases, managing knowledge, ensuring information assurance, and leading IT projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present business cases and perform knowledge management initiatives within the organization or its major components.
  • Provide expert analysis and evaluation of IT matters, and recommend, initiate, and develop IT projects that align with organizational goals.
  • Lead projects covering the full scope of information systems management for the Command.
  • Perform various IT tasks, including reviewing, analyzing, and validating electronic business operation tools, implementing IT resources (hardware/software), website design, database development, and business systems integration.
  • Interface with higher headquarters, other Command sites, and business centers to facilitate procurement and implementation of information systems technology within the Command.
  • Assess and implement IT policies to govern IT activities, providing guidance to management, staff, and customers regarding current and future business environments.
  • Conduct audits of IT programs and policies, develop business cases, and recommend enhancements to improve the efficiency of IT systems through the application of emerging technologies.
  • Apply IT policies, principles, and practices rigorously to deliver technical services throughout the Command.
  • Serve as the Lead Information Management Officer and Telephone Control Officer, representing the organization’s interests to service providers.
  • Lead projects related to knowledge management and business process design tasks.

Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of IT support and systems management principles.
  • Relevant IT certifications are desirable.
  • Proven experience with electronic business operation tools, website design, database development, and systems integration.
  • Familiarity with IT policy development and auditing of IT programs.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex IT issues and provide actionable recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline; or additional 4 years of IT experience at APG NEC or PEO/PM organizations in lieu of a degree.
  • No specific IT support experience required; however, relevant experience is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Secret security clearance.
