Project Manager

This position is contingent upon contract award.

JANUS Research Group is looking for qualified personnel to provide hybrid / onsite Project Management at Fort Eustis. The Project Manager shall support Program Manager in the day to day execution of the program and be responsible for the successful coordination for overall program CDRL deliveries with a primary responsibility for Program Management CDRL deliveries, customer program management briefings development and delivery, employee onboarding activities and direct engagement with the Government Program leadership personnel. Directly contributes to program efforts in several areas, including, schedule estimation and tracking, risk management, requirements analysis, and quality assurance activities. Demonstrate the ability to achieve and exceed program cost, schedule, technical, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives. Collaborate with customers to identify current tasking and to develop program objectives. Demonstrate the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and cultivate a strong team environment. Ensures proper performance of tasks necessary to ensure the most efficient and effective execution of the project. Tasks includes leading an organization that supports systems engineering, software development, integration, test, training product development, exercise support, Information Assurance (IA), Risk Management Framework (RMF) policy adherence and the development, management and maintaining of the Development Security Operations (DevSecOps)

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Project Manager (GFIM) will manage and oversee the successful execution of complex projects for the Product Lead, Global Force Information System (PD GFIM) at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in project management, Army acquisition, and leading cross functional teams in dynamic and high paced environments.

    Project Planning and Execution: Oversee multiple teams, including cybersecurity, infrastructure, and deployment teams, to ensure the successful implementation of key technologies and capabilities. Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring clear goals, requirements, and deliverables. Allocate resources effectively, set priorities, establish deadlines, and ensure adherence to project milestones. Track cost, schedule, and performance metrics, providing regular updates and corrective action plans when necessary. Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead cross functional teams, fostering collaboration and positive working relationships across internal and external stakeholders. Oversee task assignments, ensuring accountability and excellence in service delivery. Manage staffing needs, including recruiting, onboarding, and performance oversight for project personnel.

  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Regularly brief senior leadership and stakeholders on project status, risks, and accomplishments. Prepare high quality reports, briefings, and after-action reviews to support technical reviews and decision making. Develop and manage project specific documentation, policies, and procedures.

  • Risk Management and Problem Solving:
    Identify potential risks and challenges, proposing and implementing effective mitigation strategies. Resolve procurement, certification, and acquisition challenges while ensuring compliance with small business and other government mandates.

  • Process Improvement and Compliance: Ensure projects comply with government and corporate policies, directives, and acquisition standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness. Utilize tools such as SharePoint and other web-based platforms to improve organizational information sharing.

  • Financial and Resource Management: Prepare and submit monthly cost reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Monitor project budgets and variances, recommending adjustments to meet financial objectives.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: Secret required.
  • United States Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • PMP certification required.
