Lead Engineer/Scrum Master

Department: Space&Air Force Programs
Office: Remote

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Target salary range: $135k-$205k. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

JANUS Research Group is seeking a Lead Engineer/Scrum Master to support System Integration and Cloud Management of the NOAA Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS). TraCSS is the Department of Commerce's enterprise solution for ingesting, archiving, processing, and disseminating SSA data and products. TraCSS provides conjunction analysis and warning services to commercial satellite owner/operators. In this role you will provide deep knowledge of and experience with Agile development scrum methodology.

The Lead Engineer/Scrum Master will:

  • Perform the role of Lead Engineer/Scrum Master for the TraCSS System Integration and Cloud Management (SI/CM) team.
  • Provide expert knowledge of and experience with Agile development scrum methodology.
  • Collaborate with the product manager to determine goals and priorities for spring planning, grooming and product release.
  • Manage and motivate teams to achieve mature sprints with on-time delivery and appropriate documentation and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with 12 years of relevant experience. A Master's degree in science or engineering can substitute for 2 years of experience, and a PhD in science or engineering can substitute for another 2 years of experience.
  • Current knowledge of software tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively in high-availability, mission-critical environments.
